Spartan Rifle 101
Spartan Rifle 101 is designed to give the beginner with no or little experience, intermediate or advanced shooter the proper carbine fundamentals to execute in a real-world self-defense manner. Starting with “mindset”, what that truly means for real world encounters, focusing on fundamentals of shooting rifles by building a strong foundation and developing their skill set with a full understanding of accuracy, acceptable accuracy under heighten stress, and teaches shooters how to get the most out of their training.

- Safety/Medical Brief
- Gear selection and placement
- Slings and Sling placement
- Fundamentals of rifle shooting (Iron sights and Red dots)
- Rifle Manipulation
- Establishing a proper zero (25yd, 36yd, and 50yd) differences between them.
- Accuracy/Acceptable accuracy drills
- Proper Loading/Unloading drills
- Tactical reload/Speed reload drills
- Awareness of your surroundings (Situation Awareness)
- Scanning your area drills
- Target/Threat identification drills
- Malfunctions drills
- Multiple shooting positions
- Concealment/Cover positions
GEAR LIST
Students provide their own ammo: 300-450 rounds minimum. Instructor can modify drills to accommodate a lower round count for shooter(s).
Firearms – A functional carbine chambered in 5.56x45, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, 300 Blackout. A secondary spare weapon system is highly encouraged but not mandatory. A cleaning kit and proper tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) the shooter has is also a must. Each student should have a minimum of 3-5 working magazines.
- Note pad, and pen/pencil
- Attire suited for outdoor activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
- Athletic footwear for outdoor training (No sandals, slip-ons, or open toe shoes)
- Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
- Ear pro (electronic preferred) / Eye pro/ Prescription glasses are acceptable
- Baseball style hat (recommended)
- Sunblock/bug spray
- Tools that work on your weapon
- A holster and magazine pouch that will properly retain equipment (Chest rigs, outer carriers, battle belts are not mandatory) Do not go out and buy these items just for this course.

- Water hydrating device/Snacks
- Knee and elbow pads (optional)
- Gloves (optional)
